Financing options

For locomotive and carriage financing, we offer finance or operating leases, loans, or hire purchase. The repayment period depends on the financing method. For finance leases, this may be up to 10 years. For shorter repayment periods, we recommend a loan, hire purchase, or operating leasing. We finance both new and used equipment. We are one of the leading non-bank providers of financing for various types of locomotives, carriages, and rolling stock for passenger and freight rail transport. Our sales team takes an individual approach to each client and business case in order to make the purchase and subsequent operation as smooth as possible.

Since 2004, we have been working with the European Investment Bank (EIB). This partnership allows us to offer clients interest-rate subsidies. In communicating with the EIB, we handle all matters on behalf of the client, and no additional documents are needed for transaction approval. EIB subsidies are primarily intended for small and medium-sized businesses and corporations with fewer than 3,000 employees in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and for projects up to EUR 25 million. Interest-rate subsidies are available for up to 100% of the amount financed by SGEF, based on a mutually signed annex to the financing agreement.

Since 2017, we have also been involved in Climate Action, an EIB initiative geared towards businesses of all sizes, corporations, and state-owned enterprises, particularly for the financing of projects that reduce environmental impacts. Only electric locomotives are eligible for subsidies under this programme.
