Sustainable financing
Sustainable financing encompasses investments in projects that have a positive impact on the environment and society. This includes public transport, modern and energy-efficient production technologies, waste recycling equipment, renewable energy sources, greenhouse gas emission reduction projects, and medical equipment.
We finance projects that mitigate the effects of climate change and contribute to environmental protection. Each year, we increase the volume of sustainable assets in our portfolio and ensure that our clients’ do business compliant with environmental regulations.
As a member of the group, we adhere to ESG commitments and standards set by Société Générale and Komerční banka.
Green energy: Supporting projects to reduce emissions and generate renewable energy, such as photovoltaic power plants, electric forklifts, gas- and electric-powered buses, and other public transport options. Public transport is one of the areas where we are currently making the largest investments, delivering a positive impact on quality of life.
Sustainable technology: Helping clients to acquire smart technologies for energy savings and production process innovation.
Social projects: Financing medical technology and equipment for healthcare facilities and IT equipment for schools.
Environmental technology: Investing in equipment for the maintenance of public greenery and spaces, and in technology for waste recycling.
We identify ESG-compliant transactions using methodology and tools developed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and PwC. We also prepare reports to monitor the utilisation of EIB-provided resources.
The volume of ESG transactions mitigating climate change impacts is published annually in KB Group’s Sustainability Report. This report also covers other non-financial indicators, such as reductions in our corporate carbon footprint.
One of our innovative products in sustainable financing is One-crown Photovoltaics. Developed in partnership with ČEZ ESCO, it allows corporations, public institutions, and government bodies to harness renewable energy without an initial investment.
One-crown Photovoltaics was successful in the prestigious Golden Crown (Zlatá koruna) competition for financial products. We secured first place in the Leasing category and third place in the Green Crown (Zelená koruna) category, which recognises products that embody the essence and purpose of financial services promoting sustainability (for individuals) or ESG principles (for businesses).
