Awards

As part of the Czech retail financial products awards The Mastercard Bank of the Year 2024, we received the Responsible Bank of the Year award. We also received awards in the categories of Corporate Bank of the Year, Private Bank of the Year, Bank without Barriers, and Developer Bank of the Year.

In 2022 and 2023, we were awarded the Bank of the Year in the Mastercard Bank of the Year competition. The expert jury recognized the significant transformation we have undergone in recent years, which has initiated a new era in banking.

The Association of Social Responsibility has once again ranked us as one of the Top 10 large Czech corporations that live by sustainable business practices. ESG Rating covers all three aspects represented by this abbreviation, i.e., the management of Environmental, Social, and Governance risks and opportunities in companies.

Komerční banka ranked among the TOP 10 large enterprises in the ESG Rating by the Faculty of Business Administration at the Prague University of Economics and Business, where more than a hundred domestic companies applied. The ESG rating focuses on evaluating aspects of sustainability and the fulfillment of ESG principles, providing a comprehensive view of the ESG practices of companies in the Czech Republic.

In 2024 we again retained the awards received in 2023. This year’s edition of the Top Responsible Company ratings from Business for Society has had three awards for us – TOP Responsible Large Company, TOP Responsible Company in Reporting for sustainability reporting, and the TOP Responsible Leader in Diversity award.

Every year, Business for Society, a platform for sustainable business in the Czech Republic, recognizes the companies that are serious about sustainability and responsible business. That is, companies that focus on sustainability development on a long-term and strategic basis, have positive benefits for their employees as well as society, reduce their environmental impacts, and bring innovative solutions.

This year, too, we scored in the Golden Crown competition for financial products. For the third time, we won first place in the Green Crown category for our Sustainable Technologies Loan. Our other products were also successful in the competition. In the Business loans category, we won third place with our Business Profi Loan.

In the second edition of the Ekonom Sustainability Ranking, we won an award in the category Strategy – good practice in the banking sector.

The jury particularly appreciated the quality of our sustainability report, the sophistication and transparency of internal procedures and the expert advisory services provided to clients through Enviros.

The Main Hall of the Wallenstein (or Waldstein) Palace, home of Czech Parliament’s upper house, the Senate, has hosted the ceremony for The National Awards of the Czech Republic granted by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. The ceremony included The National Quality Award of the Czech Republic, The National Award of the Czech Republic for Family Business Quality, and also The National Award of the Czech Republic for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development, with KB placing second. 

Having signed up for the competition, we completed the input report, explaining our strategy and our steps towards sustainability, and providing other information about various areas, such as our relationship to the employees and clients and our ownership structure. 

The mission of The National Award of the Czech Republic for Corporate Responsibility is to promote modern business and corporate social responsibility through the feedback provided to organisations by independent external assessment. The National Award of the Czech Republic for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development has been accorded in the Czech Republic continuously since 2009. This Czech National Award has been fully harmonised with the international EFQM Committed to Sustainability assessment model, thereby helping organisations to compare themselves with other organisations in the Czech Republic and in other countries.

From the announcement of the Hospodářské noviny Visa Best Bank 2022 awards, we received an award in the Banking Innovator category. Our initiative to share ATMs with MONETA Money Bank, which brings more accessible services to our clients and, as a result, energy savings, was successful in the public vote. In the meantime, other banks have joined and we now share almost 2,000 ATMs. KB Pojišťovna also won two prizes.

We are regularly evaluated by the rating agencies MSCI ESG and S&P SAM, which evaluate the sustainable approach of companies and the comprehensive impact of business on society and the environment. In the MSCI ESG rating, we have maintained a very good AA rating for two years in a row.

We are the first Czech bank that, since 2018, has been part of one of the world's main indices of socially responsible companies - the FTSE4Good Index Series. The index is compiled by FTSE Russell (The Financial Times Stock Exchange Group). The FTSE4Good Index Series identifies companies that are active in their approach to environmental protection, maintaining a high level of social and corporate governance. The measurement is carried out on the basis of globally recognized standards.

In the FTSE4Good index, we moved from 3.7 to 4.0 points (out of a maximum of 5 possible points).
