Bank Cheque Issued by KB

Bank cheques for settlement of commercial and private payments.

The Bank cheque issued by KB is intended for:

  • natural persons
  • corporate entities
  • entrepreneurs

Characteristics of the Bank cheque issued by KB:

  • the cheque is issued directly by Komerční banka, a.s.
  • the bank guarantees that the  cheque will be cashed
  • the bank does not guarantee that the cheque will be cashed if:
    • the cheque has been cancelled
    • the cheque has been reported as lost/stolen
  • available in the following currencies:
    • CZK
    • CAD
    • DKK
    • EUR
    • GBP
    • NOK
    • SEK
    • USD
  • can be issued:
    • by transfer from all types of current accounts up to an unlimited level
    • in exchange for payment in cash up to CZK 500,000 or the equivalent in foreign currency

Advantages of a Bank cheque issued by KB:

  • on the basis of written instruction by the client
  • the cheque is always covered – the client pays the amount for the cheque and the fees at the moment it is drawn up for a specific recipient, for the bearer or the party requesting issue of the cheque
  • possibility of sending the cheque to the recipient's address (by post or DHL)
  • it is not necessary to know the recipient's bank details
  • possibility of returning the cheque to the bank if the contract is cancelled or for another reason – funds for the cheque are immediately credited back to the account or paid out in cash
  • cancellation of the cheque (stop payment) in the event of:
    • its loss or theft
    • on expiry of the legally set deadline (money is credited to the applicant's account or paid out in cash after acknowledgement of the stop payment by the foreign bank, or in the case of a cheque issued in CZK, on expiry of the deadline as set out by law)

A Bank cheque issued by KB allows you to:

  • make a commercial payment
    • if cashless payment is not appropriate
      • e.g. the recipient's bank details are not known
    • if there is no desire to use another method of payment
      • e.g. documentary letter of credit or a bank guarantee
    • unsuitable for implementation of net payments
      • most banks charge a fee for cashing of cheques, which the recipient must pay
  • make payments for non-commercial obligations 
    • for settlement of various obligations of natural persons – individuals
      • subscriptions for magazines
      • tuition fees
      • fees for accommodation when participating in seminars or registration fees
  • ensuring immediate cashing in KB 
    • at KB branches if the bank's conditions for cashing of cheques are adhered to
    • in other banks, this is performed in line with the laws on cheques of the pertinent country and the commercial terms and conditions of the bank, which cash the cheque
